Hügelkultur is a German word meaning mound culture or hill culture. This technique where decaying wood debris and other compostable biomass plant materials are layered in the bottom of the raised bed. This technique helps to improve soil fertility, water retention, and soil warming. This also reduces the amount of soil used to fill raised beds.
Q: What type of material do you use for your garden bed kits?
A: We use Aluzinc-magnesium coated galvanized steel. This highly corrosion-resistant substrate is applied through a hot-dip-coated process. A specialized layer of zinc, aluminum, and magnesium protects the galvanized steel substrate. This process resist's corrosion, especially on cut or raw edges makes these gardens outlast other metal gardens on the market today.
